Promotions
The MACE promotional calendar is divided into 17 periods (16x3 weeks
and 1x4 weeks). Each promotional period receives bespoke planning
with particular focus being placed upon key times of the year. These
will include:
- January Sale
- Easter
- July Holidays
- Back to School
- Halloween
- Christmas.
Time of year is a key factor influencing the product range offered.
In its simplest form this results in warming meal deals and ingredients
in Winter / Spring and an emphasis on soft drinks, salads and desserts
in Summer / Autumn. These selections are further refined by, for
example, a picnic offering at Easter and Barbeque requirements from
May onwards.
Because top up shopping is the foundation of our business the continual
inclusion of daily essentials such as Bread, Fruit & Veg, Frozen
and Chilled food is paramount in an ongoing promotional campaign
to build customer footfalland win an ever increasing portion of
the consumers food and impulse spend by providing a constant variety
of convenient food solutions to modern lifestyles.
The MACE ethos is centred upon service and value for money, we
ensure therefore that our customers get the Big Brands they trust
at prices which stack up against all competitors.
All MACE promotions are supported by colourful, impactful point
of sale material and consumer leaflets. During our most aggressive
activity, six times yearly, 4-page offer leaflets are distributed
door to door to all residential addresses in Northern Ireland. Tactical
television advertising is used at these times to reinforce the message
that MACE stores are convenient and relevant to the community they
serve.
